Tokidoki Collection

Ok, so one of our favorite cosmetic line’s collections is the Tokidoki collection. It was released in limited edition last spring (2007) and quickly became a favorite of makeup wearers everywhere. The unique packaging inspired by Japanese animation made it appealing to many who were tired of looking at the same boring makeup.

Makeup, especially smashbox cosmetics, comes in bright, bold, vibrant colors. When applied correctly with the right blend, it makes the face come alive. From runways, to movies, to the stage, to couture fashion magazines, the right makeup makes all the difference. It is only natural that the packaging that holds such transforming products match what is inside.

Tokidoki does exactly that. It makes the makeup process more fun and appealing. It creates a playful atmosphere where the person applying the makeup becomes more involved with the process and it becomes more than just putting makeup on a face.

This collection offers two eye shadow quads, a lip gloss in two shades, a luminizing lotion, a lip and cheek makeup stick and a gorgeous mirror. Adorning the packages that encloses these products are cartoon-like characters applying different makeup to the face and lips. The compact containing the mirror dons a beautiful star and is appropriately labeled Stelina, meaning little star.

Beautifully crafted, this collection blends smash box’s vision of daring makeup with tokidoki creator Simone Legno’s Japanimation. Legno describes the collection as such: “the hope and hidden destiny everyone has inside that gives us the strength to face each new day and dream that something magical will happen to us.” That has always been the visualization of the Factor brothers when smash box cosmetics was created and so it is fitting that they create this beautifully creative makeup line.
